Meditation Can Improve Your Sex Life

Posted on November 10, 2018 at 6:40 AM Comments comments (258)

Amazing sex may seem like an unlikely benefit of meditation, but let's just say that mindfulness may do much more for you than Viagra in the bedroom.

For too long, meditation has been associated with asceticism and monks, which is why it has taken us this long to get around to exploring its effects on sex.

It was a student at Ziva Meditation who inspired this article. He came to me after a full year of twice-a-day meditation and said, "You joked once before about meditation making my sex better, but what's happening for me is crazy. I need answers."

Animalistic, raw and mind-blowing were the most memorable adjectives he then used to describe his new found sexual prowess. He continued, "It feels crass to say, but my sex life has been stunning. 'Meditation' and 'primal sex' aren't an expected fit, but now I'm a believer."

He told me that since the first week of taking my course, he noticed not only that he was able to last much longer during intercourse, but also told me that he felt more control over his orgasms, had way more energy, and more of a sex drive as a result.

So why does meditation make you better in bed? Well, let's consider context first. Many of us are stressed out, whether from work, our relationships, money, and a whole host of other reasons, circumstantial and otherwise. Stress increases cortisol and adrenaline levels, and these increased levels of cortisol and adrenaline decrease sexual desire and performance (among other negative effects).

Well, I am sure you've heard that meditation is an incredibly powerful stress-reducing tool. Therefore, it stands to reason that meditation can increase sexual desire and performance by reducing cortisol and adrenaline levels.

Now that that's under our belt, let's look at the top five ways meditation can improve your sex life:

1. Meditation gives you deep rest, which means more energy for sex.

"Not tonight honey, I'm tired!" How many times have you felt like fatigue been your excuse for not wanting to have sex? You're not alone: exhaustion is one of the most common reasons couples don't have as much sex as they would like. According to a recent study by the National Sleep Foundation, about one in every four married or cohabitating Americans claim they're so sleep-deprived that they're often too tired to have sex.

When you meditate you give your body rest that is deeper than sleep which helps you feel more awake afterward. This jolt of energy may be just what you need after work to energize you for adult playtime.

2. Meditation decreases stress, which means better orgasms.

Increased cortisol levels can prevent female orgasm and cause erectile dysfunction. According to a recent study, women whose cortisol levels exceed a certain amount can become physically incapable of orgasm. Think about it: do you feel aroused when you are stressed out? Probably not.

There is a reason why almost every civilization since the beginning of time has some sort of mating ritual before sex. Things like a nice dinner, champagne, oysters and music can help set the mood and relax you for sex. The more relaxed you are going into the act itself the more likely you are to enjoy it and therefore climax.

Oh, and men are not off the hook. According to Dr. Nelson E. Bennett, MD, an erectile dysfunction expert at the Lahey Clinic, "Stress, fear, anxiety, worry, and frustration cause your body to release adrenaline which constricts your blood vessels, and that is bad for getting a good erection."

Meditation moves you out of fight or flight and into stay and play. Within a few days of starting a meditation practice adrenaline and cortisol levels drop. Your brain will start producing more dopamine and serotonin which are bliss chemicals. This bliss chemistry in the brain helps to increase your sexual appetite and increase the intensity of orgasm.

3. Meditation makes you more present, and less distracted.

Most of us have an over developed left-brain. The left brain's job is to review the past and rehearse the future. This can keep us trapped in a past/ future thought cycle and rob us of the ability to be fully present in the right now, which is the only time an orgasm can happen.

The right brain is in charge of present moment awareness and this is the part of the brain that meditation takes to the gym. The longer we meditate, the more brain cohesion and neuroplasticity we create which balances the right and left hemispheres of the brain.

So the result of this is more attention, awareness and computing power for the task at hand. And depending on what you and your partner(s) are into it may take quite a few hands. Nobody likes a distracted lover.

4. Meditation helps you stop looking to your partner to complete you.

"You complete me" are probably the most damaging words to come out of Hollywood. No one can complete you. No partner, job, degree or number of zeros in your bank account can complete you. Your happiness exists in one place and that is inside of you and it exists in one time and that is right now.

If you do not have a meditation practice or a means by which to access that happiness, then you tend to look externally for fulfillment. If you are looking to your partner to "fill you up" spiritually or physically then you will always be disappointed as nothing external has the capacity to give you access to your bliss. Happiness is an inside job. If you are 80% fulfilled then the relationship will be a place to deliver that fulfillment, not somewhere to get the missing 20%.

5. Meditation might make your partner think you are psychic.

If you haven't heard about mirror neurons yet, get ready. Scientists say that mirror neurons are going to do for psychology what DNA did for biology. Think of mirror neurons like tiny boomerangs emitted from your brain that go and dance with your lover's mirror neurons and then report back. Mirror neurons allow you to "intuit" what your partner is feeling. They are why you cringe if you watch someone getting hurt. Mirror neurons are one of the reasons porn is a billion dollar industry. Simply watching someone else being pleasured can create pleasure in your brain.

Well, get this: meditation increases mirror neuron functioning. This fact, coupled with the fact that you'll be more relaxed and present, will probably mean you'll be a far more intuitive and generous partner.

So before you reach for the little blue pill why not resolve to learn a meditation practice? I recommend finding a technique that was made for people with busy minds and lives instead of a style made for monks. (I also recommend getting real training from a teacher you respect before you decide if you like meditation or not). With the right technique (and the right teacher), it really can be easy — and oh so fun.

THE TOXIC TEN

Posted on November 9, 2018 at 7:55 AM Comments comments (235)

COMMON PERSONAL CARE, THINGS WE SHOULD KNOW, WHAT HARM IS IN OUR HOMES AND SUPERMARKETS

THE TOXIC TEN:-

1. ALCOHOL:-As an ingredient in indigestible products, alcohol may cause body tissues to be more vulnerable to carcinogens.

Mouthwashes with an alcohol content of 25% or more have been implicated in mouth, tongue and throat cancers, according to a study released by the national cancer institute. Accidental poisonings have also been attributed to alcohol consumption from mouthwashes.

2. ALUMINIUM:- Is an ingredient used in antiperspirants ( it stops the body from respiring which is a natural process of the skin ). It has long been linked to Alzheimer's disease, which is currently afflicting 1 in 2 people over the age of 70. Has been identified as a neurotoxin which can actively interfere with many chemical reactions in the brain.

3. DIETHANOLAMINE (DEA), COCAMIDE DEA, LAURAMIDA DEA:-

DEA is a colourless liquid or crystalline alcohol that is used as a solvent, emulsifier and detergent ( wetting agent ). DEA works as an emollient in skin-softening lotions or as a humectant in other personal care products. When found in products containing nitrates, it reacts chemically with nitrates to form potentially carcinogenic nitrosamines. DEA may also irritate the skin mucous membranes. Also watch out for triethanolamine (TEA ) and monoethanolamine (MEA ).

4. FLUORIDE :- Fluoride is an insidious poison ( similar to cyanide ), harmful, toxic and cumulative in its effects, even when ingested in minimal amounts. The use of fluoride to prevent tooth decay is also controversial because of suggestive evidence of its carcinogenicity. According to some reports, fluoride can transform normal cells into cancer cells. Research done by a former chief chemist of the US national cancer institute ( reported in the mid-90s ) has also found that 10,000 or more fluoridation-linked cancer deaths occurred yearly in the U.S. (CAP also found 6 other types of carcinogenic and potentially carcinogenic chemicals besides fluoride in toothpastes. ).

The original promotion of fluoridation as a remedy for tooth decay was funded by the aluminium industry. Andrew Mellon, former chairman of the Aluminium Corporation of America (ALCOA ), was Secretary of the Treasury when the U.S Public Health Service was an agency of the Treasury Department. The research purporting to demonstrate fluoride effectiveness and safety was funded by ALCOA, Reynolds Metals and other heavy fluoride emitters. Fact 1. Fluoridation is cancer-causing, cancer promoting, and is linked to increased cancer rates in humans. Fact 2. Hip fracture rates are substantially higher in people residing in fluoridated communities. Fact 3. Dental fluorosis, the first visible sign of fluoride poisoning, affects from 8% to 51% of the children drinking fluoridated water. Fact 4. All of the recent large-scale studies on fluoridation and tooth decay show that fluoridation does not reduce tooth decay, it's what we eat that does. Fact 5. Fluoride drops and tablets are not approved by the U.S Food & Drug Administration as safe and effective. On the contrary, Fluoride tablets and drops have been shown to be ineffective in reducing tooth decay and to cause skin eruptions, gastric disease, headache and weakness, which disappears when fluoride use is discontinued. Dental fluorosis on the other hand, is a permanent disfigurement.

5. FORMALDEHYDE:- It is a toxic, colourless gas that is an irritant and a carcinogen. When combined with water, formaldehyde is used as a disinfectant, fixative or preservative. It is found in many cosmetic products and conventional nail care systems. It is known to cause eye, nose and throat irritation, coughing, asthma attacks, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, skin rashes, nose bleeds, headaches and dizziness.

6. POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL (PEG ):- Has been shown to be teratogenic (relating to, or causing developmental malformations ) in mouse studies. It may carry the contaminant 1,4 dioxane that readily penetrates human skin and has caused cancer in rodent studies. 1,4 dioxane is a suspected human carcinogen ( cornell carcinogen database ) and in rodent studies was found to cause cancer of the liver and nasal passages when ingested and skin cancer when applied to the surface of the skin.

7.POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL (PEG):- Propylene glycol is a common ingredient used extensively in industry as a component of brake fluids, paint, varnishes and anti-freeze components. Unfortunately it also appears in many personal care products. It is a petro-chemical solvent readily absorbed through the skin and scalp. It accumulates in the heart, liver and kidneys (causing abnormalities and damage) and weakens the immune system. It damages cell membranes causing rashes, dry skin, contact dermatitis and surface damage to the skin. It is toxic to human cells in cultures.

8. SODIUM LAURYL SULPHATE (SLS), SODIUM LAURETH SULPHATE (SLES):- Can accumulate in our body tissue. It can penetrate into the eyes, brain, liver, kidneys etc, through our skin. SLS can damage the immune system causing separation of skin layers and severe irritation of the skin. On the scalp, long term exposure to SLS can cause hair loss due to corrosion of hair follicles. Animal studies show SLS could retard healing and stop a child's eyes from developing properly. Children under six are particularly vulnerable to improper eye development. SLS is associated with development of cataracts even with indirect contact. In toothpaste SLS causes an increase in gum disease. It is also linked to reoccurring mouth ulcers. SLES is a compound used in many shampoos, toothpaste, bubble baths and industrial degreasants. The problem is, the extremely harmful compound 1,4-dioxane may be created during the ethoxylation process, contaminating the product. 1,4-dioxane was one of the principal components of the chemical defoliant Agent Orange, used to so called great effect during the Vietnam War to strip the jungle canopy to reveal the enemy. To this day many soldiers are affected by agent orange, and the land has never been the same.

It is also an estrogen mimic, thought to increase the chances of breast and endometrial cancers, stress-related illness and lower sperm count. SLES is commonly used in milder, baby care products, because it is less irritating to the eyes!

9.TALC:- Talc is a very fine substance, so fine it can be used as a ''dry'' lubricant. Talc is chemically similar to asbestos, a known cancer causing substance. It is associated with an increase in ovarian cancer and respiratory illness. A report published in the American Journal of Epidemiology found that woman who used talcum powder in the genital area had an increased ovarian cancer risk of 60%.

10.TOLUENE:- A very common solvent found in nails enamels, spray cans, hair spray, hair gel, perfumes and fragrances. (this includes deodorant sprays, body sprays, air fresheners and room deodorises etc., basically most products that are artificially fragranced). It triggers asthma attacks and is one of the few chemicals that can cause asthma in a perfectly healthy person. It is also neurotoxic (adverse nervous system effects). Can cause liver damage and be an endocrine disrupter.

The Tibetan Singing Bowl

Posted on November 7, 2018 at 6:20 AM Comments comments (173)

The Tibetan Singing Bowl

Sound is a vibration that resonates with the soul, which can be felt in every cell of our body. Sound has the power to heal not only on a physical level but also on emotional and spiritual levels.

The Tibetan Singing bowls, which are standing bells, rather than hanging inverted or attached to a handle, that rest on the bottom surface. The sides and rim of singing bowls vibrate to produce deep and soothing sound.

Traditionally, singing bowls were used throughout Asia as part of Bön (Lhasa dialect, the word bon means ‘religion’ and is the oldest spiritual tradition of Tibet.) and Tantric Buddhist Sadhana. The use of singing bowls in Tibet is the subject of much debate and many stories. Some people say they were used for meditation while others say they were magical tools for healing and transformation of self and of matter.

Chinese Buddhists use the singing bowl to accompany the wooden fish during chanting, striking it when a particular phrase in a sutra is sung. In Japan and Vietnam, singing bowls are similarly used during chanting and may also mark the passage of time or signal a change in activity. Today they are employed worldwide both within and without these spiritual traditions, for meditation, relaxation, health care, personal well-being and religious practice.

Our Experience with the Tibetan Singing Bowl: The moment I began to use the singing bowl, I knew it had a deeper purpose, you start off by banging the stick on the side of the bowl, then you rub the stick around the bowl in such a way that you take control of the vibration and by rotating this vibration around the bowl with speed and altitude of the friction you can create different frequencies and sound. But what was more interesting is the way your body reacts to the vibrations that are flowing in through your hand.

The feeling of peace descending through you as you churn the bowl and focus on the sound and the control of the vibrations in your hand. It seems so magical its pretty unbelievable what the bowl can do to you. The Old and the New: Traditionally, antique singing bowls were made of Panchaloga (five metals in Sanskrit), a bronze alloy of copper, tin, zinc and iron and other metals. Antiques often include silver, gold and nickel, they produce multiphonic and polyharmonic overtones which are unique to the antique instruments.

The subtle yet complex multiple harmonic frequencies are a special quality of the high quality bronze alloy. Singing bowls are no longer made in the traditional way and is considered a lost art. Antique singing bowls are highly prized and collected worldwide. Their popularity is due to their fine craftsmanship and remarkable sound.

The aging process seems to improve the tone and centuries old antiques produce an incredibly rich and beautiful sound. While the new singing bowls are made from industrial quality metal, mainly copper and are exported widely from Nepal and India. New singing bowls and crystal bowls do not produce the warm and complex tone of fine antiques. They sound like clear and simple bells, without the warm undertones and bright harmonic overtones for which antiques are famous.

What Is the Meaning of the Term, Spiritual?

What Is the Meaning of the Term, Spiritual?

That which is spiritual is sacred and the concept of sacred is interchangeable with the concept of "holy"-a word derived from an Old English word meaning, "whole" and perfect in goodness. A religious person may be spiritual, but a spiritual person is not necessarily religious.

Spirituality refers to the evolutionary process as it drives us forward, eventually, to perfect wholeness. It relates to the expansion or evolution of consciousness. And, thus all activity-be it physical, emotional, intuitional and so forth-that leads towards greater perfection, goodness and wholeness is therefore spiritual. The scientist working, for example, on a cancer cure is involved in spiritual work, as is the diplomat attempting to bring harmony between warring parties or the artist seeking to create a beautiful masterpiece for enhancing the quality of life.

Spiritual values are qualified by ever-widening horizons, synthesis, growth and wholeness as well as greater vision, understanding and integration.

We know that without the physical sun, the world would be a dark, cold, dead place. Without the Soul-the heart of the inner spiritual wisdom-the inner sun, the world is full of psychological darkness in the form of ignorance, selfishness and separateness.

The renaissance or resurrection that is needed today is for the liberation of the spiritual essence within the heart of humanity. For, there is no way for us to resolve our many global problems and issues unless we are willing to recognize the inner spiritual essence and accept the true and lasting authority of the Soul-the divine spiritual essence at the heart of each human being.

Following are some definitions of that which is "spiritual" from the Ageless Wisdom Teachings presented within two of the books authored by Alice A. Bailey:

The word 'spiritual' does not refer to religious matters, so-called. All activity which drives the human being forward towards some form of development-physical, emotional, mental, intuitional, social-if it is in advance of his present state is essentially spiritual in nature and is indicative of the livingness of the inner divine entity. The spirit of man is undying; it forever endures, progressing from point to point and stage to stage upon the Path of Evolution, unfolding steadily and sequentially the divine attributes and aspects.

In the future, illumination will be viewed primarily from the intellectual angle and the whole subject will be approached mentally, and not so definitely (as is the case today) from the angle of religion. ….One of the major contributions of the present age to the unfoldment of the race has been the growing recognition that spirituality is not to be confused with and confined to the acceptance and the following of the precepts contained in the world Scriptures; .…God can be known by His works, and these works can be more easily appreciated through the revelations of science than by the hymns, prayers and sermons of the churches throughout the world.

This group [the New Group of World Servers] gives the word 'spiritual' a wide significance; they believe it to mean an inclusive endeavour towards human betterment, uplift and understanding; they give it the connotation of tolerance, international synthetic communion, religious inclusiveness, and all trends of thought which concern the esoteric development of the human being.

Who Thinks Your Thoughts?

Who Thinks Your Thoughts?

The notion that how we feel is merely caused by events around us or directly involving us, is a scourge of our modern times. To believe that the external world and its perceived relationship to us is the major determinative factor in how we feel (“I can’t believe he/she said that to me—that’s so outrageous!”;) is disempowering and self-destructive.

We impose our “shoulds” on what we perceive as “the world out there”, and then when it fails to live up to our arbitrary and abstract standards, we pout, mope, grumble and complain that it “should” have been different. Rather than tweaking our perception, we demand that the thing we perceive should tweak itself! When people fail to conform to our whimsy, we often then fall into yet another error avoided by the mindful: we replay upsetting events (events that we perceived as upsetting) and our emotional response/s to them in our heads over and over, further upsetting ourselves!

Many people like to imagine how they would have responded differently to an unpleasant scenario: perhaps some pithy and scathing repartee to put the aggressor in their place, or some supremely composed nonchalance in the face of adversity. But these mental rehashings and rehearsals have several negative effects, including: further encouraging sloppy, undisciplined and counterproductive thinking; distracting us from the present, wasting our time and energy; and the internally generated fight-or-flight stress response needlessly releases more cortisol into our blood, aging us even faster and suppressing our immune systems)—even though the moment has passed.

This function of our “time-binding semantic circuit” (as Tim Leary and Robert Anton Wilson have referred to it) makes us unique among the creatures on this planet. Only we humans choose to torture ourselves by replaying imaginary scenarios from the past that are unrelated to the present moment! We are unique among the creatures on this planet in our ability to squander the gift of the present moment by our thoughts of the past.

The remedy?

Firstly, we need to drop our “shoulds” in the moment and adopt a more “go with the flow” mindset wherein we acknowledge the infinite diversity of the multiverse and accept that there will always be things that crop up along the way that we won’t necessarily be overjoyed about. Believe that that is okay (and that it may ultimately be in your best interests!), and, as Niebuhr said, try to cultivate the serenity to accept the things you cannot change.

Next, we need to learn not to RE-act unconsciously to stimuli, rehashing our established habitual response to some perceived stressor. (“I can’t believe you’re doing this to me again!”;) Instead, we need to develop a modicum of detachment and learn to observe what is occurring without identifying with it. That goes for both external processes and internal thought processes.

People forget that no matter what happens, there is always a multitude of angles to view it from, all of them complimentary. Too easily do we adopt the idea that our personal viewing angle trumps any other: “How I see it is right. I am completely objective. THEY are wrong.” It can be an extremely useful and healing exercise to step into another party’s shoes and try to humble oneself enough to see things from their perspective.

If it’s too late for you to try multi-angle viewing in the moment because you’ve already gotten swept away on a wave of emotion, all is not lost. You can still step back from your own thoughts and feelings: they are not you. Any thought or feeling you can observe (which is all of them) must be something other than yourself, something less than the totality of who and what you are.

Your thoughts and feelings come and go, they are transient, and yet through them all, you remain. Observe an emotional response, resist the temptation to fight it, and allow it to pass without judging yourself for having the feeling. Feelings are only human, but as the observer, you are uncoloured, untainted consciousness.

Before we ever thought or felt, we were simply consciousness being. We can be that consciousness and train ourselves out of unconscious identification with our transient thoughts and feelings. You have feelings (and beliefs and thoughts), but they are not what you are. As Stephen Wolinsky notes in Quantum Consciousness, if a part of you can observe your feelings of sadness, then you must be more than merely the sadness itself. Observe it, don’t identify with it: it isn’t you. Thus, we learn to become the master, and emotion the servant.

Given the realisation that you have a choice between neutrality, humour, offence, sadness, pain, anger, or even joy, in virtually any given circumstance, “Surely,” you might reason, “only a masochist would consciously choose anything other than enjoyable psychological assessments of and responses to events, or at the very least, relatively peaceful or neutral ones.” But we habitually and unconsciously choose anything but peace, neutrality or joy. Through effort, we can cultivate the mindfulness that allows us to recognise (“know again”;) in the moment that we are the ones who choose our thoughts and feelings, no one else.

An amusing example of choosing a pleasant observer-created reality over a relatively unpleasant one that comes to mind regards the beloved Scottish comedian Billy Connelly. During a visit to America, Connelly was walking down a city footpath during a major traffic standstill, wherein a bus found itself stuck in the middle of an intersection, unable to move out of the way. One irate motorist who couldn’t quite cope with the “injustice” of the situation got out of his car, walked up to the bus and actually swore at the hapless passengers! Observing this as he passed by, Connelly burst into laughter at the man’s completely irrational paroxysm (as if the passengers on the bus were somehow responsible for its position on the road!).

Now, Connelly could just as easily have shaken his head, got on his “high horse” and bemoaned the inappropriate nature of the man’s uncivilized and anti-social behaviour, but he didn’t do that. Instead, he immediately recognised the absurdity of swearing at the ill-fated passengers on the bus (who were also stuck in the traffic jam and being similarly delayed) and found the humour in the man’s aggro.

The absence of “shoulds” meant that Connelly’s observer-created reality was one in which humour was readily to be found; not so for the raging motorist, blinded and overwhelmed by his frustration. Almost any number of interpretations could have been made besides this one, but Connelly instinctively went with one that was not self-destructive and did not cause himself mental anguish or a foul mood—au contraire: laughter is good for the soul, our disposition, and the human immune system!

What will be the next choice you make in experiencing your subjective observer-created reality? If finding the lighter side of adversity comes to you with as much difficulty as it did for the unfortunate road-rager who provided Connelly with his street-side entertainment, then try to cultivate the habit of observing, and then observing yourself observing. You’ll be amazed at the number of cognitive options you see at your disposal that would go completely unnoticed if you were identifying with your perceptions, beliefs, and judgements, and the feelings flowing from them.

No identification, no suffering. From an “observer space” you can consciously choose what to think and feel—you have options. Identification, on the other hand, leads to transient reactive emotion (often pain). In observer mode, you might see that no one does anything “wrong” according to the world view they have constructed (as Neale Donald Walsh explains lucidly in Conversations With God).

In identification mode, you can be upset and offended and will judge and label instead of observing. This often leads to festering resentment, and the aforementioned mental replays of an upsetting incident ad nauseum, thus allowing the “culprit” to live rent-free in your mind (“I’m not going to let them get away with that!”;). But once a troubling or challenging event has passed, if there are still lingering thoughts and replays running in my mind, I find it a useful strategy to get honest with myself and ask: “Who is thinking my thoughts? Who creates my emotions?” Obviously, the answer is me, so therefore it is I who is now causing myself the grief — what a masochist! Knowing this, I can acknowledge that I and I alone, get to choose what I believe and think, and therefore how I feel. Observing that is a powerful thing!

A call to evolution:

Disidentify — know there is a difference between having thoughts and feelings and being them.

Replace your “shoulds” with preferences — and your preferences with flexibility and openness.

Habitually observe your train of thought to identify and weed out self-defeating patterns.

As the observer of your emotions, consider that you must be something more than them.

As a more detached “observer awareness” develops, notice that you have the power to choose both intellectual and emotional responses to situations — rather than simply re-acting habitually.

Quantum Theory Proves That Consciousness Moves to Another Universe After Death

Quantum Theory Proves That Consciousness Moves to Another Universe After Death

Beyond time and space

Lanza is an expert in regenerative medicine and scientific director of Advanced Cell Technology Company. Before he has been known for his extensive research which dealt with stem cells, he was also famous for several successful experiments on cloning endangered animal species.

But not so long ago, the scientist became involved with physics, quantum mechanics and astrophysics. This explosive mixture has given birth to the new theory of biocentrism, which the professor has been preaching ever since.

The theory implies that death simply does not exist. It is an illusion which arises in the minds of people. It exists because people identify themselves with their body. They believe that the body is going to perish, sooner or later, thinking their consciousness will disappear too. In fact, consciousness exists outside of constraints of time and space. It is able to be anywhere: in the human body and outside of it. That fits well with the basic postulates of quantum mechanics science, according to which a certain particle can be present anywhere and an event can happen according to several, sometimes countless, ways.

Lanza believes that multiple universes can exist simultaneously. These universes contain multiple ways for possible scenarios to occur. In one universe, the body can be dead. And in another it continues to exist, absorbing consciousness which migrated into this universe.

This means that a dead person while traveling through the same tunnel ends up not in hell or in heaven, but in a similar world he or she once inhabited, but this time alive. And so on, infinitely.

Multiple worlds

This hope-instilling, but extremely controversial theory by Lanza has many unwitting supporters, not just mere mortals who want to live forever, but also some well-known scientists. These are the physicists and astrophysicists who tend to agree with existence of parallel worlds and who suggest the possibility of multiple universes.Multiverse (multi-universe) is a so-called scientific concept, which they defend. They believe that no physical laws exist which would prohibit the existence of parallel worlds.

The first one was a science fiction writer H.G. Wells who proclaimed in 1895 in his story “The Door in the Wall”. And after 62 years, this idea was developed by Hugh Everett in his graduate thesis at the Princeton University. It basically posits that at any given moment the universe divides into countless similar instances. And the next moment, these “newborn” universes split in a similar fashion. In some of these worlds you may be present: reading this article in one universe, orwatching TV in another.

The triggering factor for these multiplying worlds is our actions, explained Everett. If we make some choices, instantly one universe splits into two with different versions of outcomes.

In the 1980s, Andrei Linde, scientist from the Lebedev’s Institute of physics, developed the theory of multiple universes. He is now a professor at Stanford University

Space consists of many inflating spheres, which give rise to similar spheres, and those, in turn, produce spheres in even greater numbers, and so on to infinity. In the universe, they are spaced apart. They are not aware of each other’s existence. But they represent parts of the same physical universe.

The fact that our universe is not alone is supported by data received from the Planck space telescope. Using the data, scientists have created the most accurate map of the microwave background, the so-called cosmic relic background radiation, which has remained since the inception of our universe. They also found that the universe has a lot of dark recesses represented by some holes and extensive gaps.

Theoretical physicist Laura Mersini-Houghton from the North Carolina University with her colleagues argue: the anomalies of the microwave background exist due to the fact that our universe is influenced by other universes existing nearby. And holes and gaps are a direct result of attacks on us by neighboring universes.

Soul quanta

So, there is abundance of places or other universes where our soul could migrate after death, according to the theory of neo-biocentrism. But does the soul exist?

Professor Stuart Hameroff from the University of Arizona has no doubts about the existence of eternal soul. As recently as last year, he announced that he has foundevidence that consciousness does not perish after death.

According to Hameroff, the human brain is the perfect quantum computer and the soul or consciousness is simplyinformation stored at the quantum level. It can be transferred, following the death of the body; quantum information represented by consciousness merges with our universe and exist there indefinitely. The biocentrism expert Lanza proves that the soul migrates to another universe. That is the main difference from his other colleagues.

Sir Roger Penrose, a famous British physicist and expert in mathematics from Oxford, supports this theory, and he has also found traces of contact with other universes. Together, the scientists are developing quantum theory to explain the phenomenon of consciousness. They believe that they found carriers of consciousness, the elements that accumulate information during life, and after death of the body they “drain” consciousness somewhere else. These elements are located inside protein-based microtubules (neuronal microtubules), which previously have been attributed a simple role of reinforcement and transport channeling inside a living cell. Based on their structure, microtubules are best suited to function as carriers of quantum properties inside the brain. That is mainly because they are able to retain quantum states for a long time, meaning they can function as elements of a quantum computer.

Yoga Roots ??? Breathing Through Your Body, Into the Earth

As you lay on your mat, introducing yourself to the first breaths of the evening’s yoga session, you’ll often overhear the instructor guiding your breaths. During this introductory portion of the class, the focus is on stabilizing your mind and your thoughts, focusing on your breaths and your energies. With the gentle voice guiding you, you’re able to enter a centered state, prepared to begin your yoga session.

The instructor will often say something to the effect of, “Breathe in slowly from your mouth, following your breath as it makes its way through your body, down to your feet. Feel your breath and your body in synchrony, growing a root to the mat and the earth beneath you.”

Every focused breath calms the body and brings the mind to a present moment.

This process is meant to strengthen not only your mind and focus, but to also establish balance in your root chakra. The root chakra is the first one in your body, at the base of the spine, and it’s the core of your connection to the physical body and the Earth beneath you (hence, the root).

The importance can’t be overstated with yoga – match every breath with your movement and pose.

The process of breathing, in and of itself, is a complex one. Inhalation and exhalation are parts of physiological respiration. Breathing properly during exercise ensures that your working muscles receive the oxygen that they need in order to keep contracting.

There are several poses in yoga which are meant specifically to establish this sort of root. Mountain Pose and Tree Pose, for example, do exactly that. As you stand firmly on the mat, with your feet practically cemented to the earth, you’re able to feel the ground beneath you.

Simply “standing” in a single place may seem easy and meaningless to some, but it’s far from that. This sort of pose establishes a great mind-body focus. Moreover, maintaining this sort of firm root in your feet while at the same time having loose, relaxed limbs above the waist takes practice. It’s a bit of juxtaposition – the energy and weight in your upper body relaxed, balanced, with your lower body and feet firmly connected to the mat.

Indeed, the only way you’ll get this pose is through your breath.

Every aspect of yoga – every pose, movement and position is only enhanced through your breath. Standing strong, breathe in through your nose. Feel as the breath slowly makes its way down to your toes, strengthening your stance and feet. Breathe out through your mouth, allowing for this exchange of energy between top and bottom to flow effortlessly.

As the class winds down to a close, you often find yourself stabilizing, balancing and revisiting basic poses. Savasana and Child’s Pose are some favorites. During these poses, the class comes full circle. Just as you focused on centering your thoughts, energy and breaths at the beginning of the class, the end of the class brings the same. It’s a moment of clarity and relaxation, as simpler postures bring you to a simpler time of relaxation, where breath is in harmony with body.

When you’re outside, these sorts of poses and breaths are that much more potent. Without a yoga mat, you’re able to tangibly connect the earth’s surface with your bare feet. Except this time, when you’re connected, the benefits are more than a metaphorical root – there’s an energy exchange actually happening. Studies suggest that this concept of Earthing or being in direct contact with the Earth’s surface, may be beneficial to your health. As you stand on the surface, breathe in and feel that connection. Your body is absorbing the earth’s limitless supply of free electrons and, in turn, neutralizing harmful free radicals. You may not be able to see it, but your yoga practice will feel that much better when you’re outside.

Now That I Have My Crystals, What Do I Do With Them?

Now That I Have My Crystals, What Do I Do With Them?

HOW DO I CHOOSE A CRYSTAL

There will be times when you need to purchase a crystal, and given the great abundance of healing stones now available, it can be useful to have a system for choosing your crystals. You do not need to know the exact properties of every stone in order to buy one, although this may help.

Below is a list of possible ways you could go about choosing a crystal. Remember, just because a crystal is beautiful, and the nicest one of a bunch, doesn’t mean that it is the best crystal for you. It is more important to be receptive and allow yourself to be drawn to a stone that will have meaning for you.

CHOOSING BY “FIRST SIGHT”

Often when you first see a range of crystals, one stone will catch your eye, and continue to draw your attention. This is likely to be a stone that will be beneficial to you. At this point you may like to trust your intuition and purchase the crystal.

However, if you are overwhelmed by choice, or are unsure of what crystal it was that first grabbed you, try standing quietly for a few moments with your eyes closed, and remember the reason that you needed to purchase a crystal. When you open your eyes choose the crystal you feel most drawn to. This will be the stone for you.

SENSING CRYSTALS

One of the suggested methods of buying a crystal requires that you look at a crystal and see if it “vibrates” with you. All crystals vibrate at their own frequency and some people are sensitive enough to feel these vibrations. Holding or placing your hand on a large piece of clear quartz crystal is a good way to develop your sensitivity to these vibrations. Sometimes a quartz may give off a regular pulse of energy; you may feel others as being very cold in your hand, or even warm. Some crystals may produce a tingling sensation on your skin. Generally a crystal that will be beneficial to you will feel right to you even though you may not be able to describe the sensations it creates. Look through a large number of them until you find just the right one. This works fine as long as you wide variety to select from.

USING A PENDULUM

This is a simple way to seek answers from your subconscious mind. You can hold a pendulum over the top of a crystal and ask “will this crystal be beneficial to me?”. Another way to use the pendulum, if you are considering a large choice of crystals, is to pass it over the top, and look for any circular motion in the pendulum above a particular crystal. If you do find the pendulum reacting over a particular stone, hold it over the stone directly, and ask a question.

RECEIVING A CRYSTAL

Crystals given as a gift are a precious experience, and as you start to use crystals more, you may begin to find crystals, or rather, they find you! It is not uncommon for these crystals to be just what you need at that given moment. It is also not uncommon to lose crystals, and although this can be upsetting when your favourite goes missing, it is usually an indication that the crystal has served its purpose in that situation and is no longer required. This is particularly so with “Record Keepers” and “Window” crystals.

BUYING WHAT’S AVAILABLE TO YOU

Another method to purchase a crystal is buying whatever crystal that is available to you. You may also get one as a gift. In either of these cases, you will be “bonding” with the crystal and that provides the “tuning” of the crystal to your “vibration”. So it isn’t all that critical that you find the “perfect” crystal when buying one.

INTERNET BUYING

crystal, crystals, vibrations, Native American, heal, yoga, meditation, guided meditation, 3rd eye, chakraWhen choosing a crystal from an internet site it is not possible to touch the crystal, so you need to take your intuition one stage further. Browse through the pictures and note which most appeals to you. You may find yourself excited by the picture of a particular crystal, with a powerful urge to touch and feel it and a sense of frustration that you cannot. If you feel that you very much want that crystal to be a part of your life, it is likely that on some level it has something to offer you.

WHAT IF I’M NOT DRAWN TO A CRYSTAL

Don’t worry. As with all purchases relating to spiritual growth intent is crucial, and you may need to acknowledge that the time isn’t right. If nothing strongly appeals to you, accept that the time is not right and come back on another day when perhaps a crystal will plead with you to take it home. Beware of buying crystals purely because that is what you set out to do as this could result in a collection of crystals unsuited to your needs and lacking meaning.

A FINAL WORD

Expect the Unexpected – I often set out to buy a specific crystal and end up purchasing something completely different. Be prepared to have your unconscious lead you to a different crystal. The unconscious or higher self doesn?t get involved with life’s day-to-day clutter and thus can get straight down to the business of selecting the most appropriate crystal for you. This is why the best approach to choosing a crystal is to quieten your mind and simply do what feels right.

Clearing Your Crystals

Crystals can collect various forms of energy from emotions, thought, touch, and many other sources. When other people handle your crystal, they leave their energy imprint on the crystal. This isn’t “bad” however, in order to make your crystal truly yours, we suggest that you remove the stored vibration. This is known as clearing the crystal.

It is a good idea to clear your crystal when you first get it, after you use it for any healing work, or whenever you feel that the crystal lacks light, luster, and energy.

Sea Salt Method

(Please note: many feel this method is too harsh. They prefer some of the other, more gentle methods listed below.)

Bury the crystal in sea salt overnight, preferably in a ceramic or glass container. You can purchase sea salt in most health food stores and in some supermarkets. You may also put your crystal in a container of water and sea salt. Use your intuition to determine how much salt you need and how long you want to leave the crystal in the solution (usually one to three days). Wash all salt off the crystals after clearing them. (We recommend filtered water for this.)

Smudging

crystal, crystals, vibrations, Native American, heal, yoga, meditation, guided meditation, 3rd eye, chakraA wonderful Native American method of clearing is to burn cedar and sage leaves and pass your crystal through the smoke. Cedar and sage may be purchased in most shops that specialize in herbs. You can also use a smudge stick, which combines cedar, sage, and often other herbs. This method is excellent for clearing your crystal as well as yourself and your environment. We prefer it for clearing jewelry.

Breath

Hold the crystal in your dominant hand, or if it is large, in both your hands. Focus your thoughts on the crystal with the intention that it will become free of all negative energy. As you hold this thought, inhale through your nose and exhale forcefully through your mouth. Your breath carries your intention to clear your crystal.

Remember to use your intuition to determine when your crystal needs clearing. Whenever you sense a decrease in its energy, a cloudiness or stickiness, it’s time to clear.

Charging

To charge a crystal is to revitalize it. Think of what kind of energy you want to store in your crystal. We have tried charging our crystals with many different energies.

Use your imagination and experiment by putting your crystal in direct sunlight or moonlight, on a large crystal cluster, under a pyramid, buried in the snow, or in the earth.

Type of Energy Where (or When) to Place

Cleansing, purifying stream

Vitality, energy sea at high tide

Restful, relaxing sea at low tide

Optimism, hope new moon

Abundance, love full moon

Introspection dark of moon

Harvesting dreams fall equinox

Rebirth, renewal winter solstice

Growth spring equinox

Passion, joy summer solstice

Working With Crystals: Passive Use of Crystal

Even if all you do with your crystal is keep it near you, you will begin to notice subtle changes in yourself. Crystals amplify and balance even the most subtle mental energy. Just having crystals in your environment can improve the quality of your life.

Active Use of Crystal

When we consciously work with crystal we can accomplish anything that the mind can imagine. Crystals have been helpful in improving memory, helping plants to grow, healing animals, contacting spirit guides, and in communicating with the animal, plant and mineral kingdoms.

One particularly powerful way to work with crystals is through the use of affirmations.

Affirmations

Affirmations are one of the most powerful methods we can use to change the quality of our lives and to create the things we want. An affirmation is a declaration or a thought which creates a desired result. To affirm means ñto make firm.” What we think or believe about ourselves and the world becomes our reality.

Pay attention to your affirmations, not only to avoid rote-like repetitions, but to actually hear what you’re saying. Joyce once realized that her affirmation, “I have an unlimited number of valuable ideas” had turned into “I have an unlimited number of limiting ideas.” This was a valuable, if depressing, discovery.

We have been giving ourselves affirmations all our lives – only we weren’t aware of it. Anything we say or think to ourselves is an affirmation. Anything anyone else says to us is an affirmation if we accept it and believe it. When we’re not aware of the process and the power of that which we think and believe about ourselves and our world we affirm a lot of things which don’t serve us well.

We are all carrying around basic core beliefs. Some of them are non-supportive things that we learned early in childhood from parents, teachers and friends.

Some unconscious affirmations:

If I look at food I gain weight

Life is nothing but suffering

The universe is against me

I am doomed to die without ever having been appreciated

Metaphysics works for everyone but me

Discovering Negative Beliefs

Becoming aware of these unconscious affirmations is the first step to dissolving them. Be conscious of your negative thoughts. One way to do this is to create a positive affirmations for example, “Abundance comes to me easily.” Your helpful mind will quickly come up with a list of reasons why this isn’t going to happen.

It never did before.

Some people aren’t meant to have money.

Why should I get my hopes up?

Another way is take the situation you want to change, and list the benefits of the negative situation. The benefits of not being prosperous might be:

No one will ever ask you for money.

You’ll never have to worry about suddenly losing your fortune.

You won’t have to feel guilty that others have less.

Whatever your issue is find out what its benefits are. Be careful not to censor yourself in the process, i.e., don’t tell yourself, “If I had a lot of money and someone needed help I’d be a terrible person not to give it to them.” Self-condemnation will not encourage your beliefs to surface; honesty will.

Work on each belief, identifying the emotion connected to it. Would you give money to people who needed it? Do you feel ungenerous? Are you afraid of acquiring money, only to lose it? Is this fear part of your life? Does guilt have a lot to do with how you relate to other people?

We strongly recommend the use of flower essences for deeply-held emotions.

The Three Aspects of Affirmations

When we consciously create affirmations we choose words which exactly express the reality we desire to create.

Another important aspect is the visual image we create to accompany the words. If we want to create a vacation in Hawaii we visualize palm trees, beaches, blue skies, warmth, etc. (It can be very helpful to look at the pictures in a travel brochure, and some people like to make a “wishboard” with an arrangement of photographs which represent whatever they’re creating).

A third (and perhaps most important) aspect is to create the way we feel when our special dream comes true. For a Hawaiian vacation you may feel relaxed or excited and stimulated to be in a new place. If you’re with someone you love you may feel increased closeness or a heightened sense of romance. If you have difficulty in visualizing or feeling the reality of your affirmation go back to the section on discovering negative beliefs.

Programming Your Crystal

Your thoughts, visualizations, and feelings have an energetic charge; when you program a crystal to assist you in manifesting your desires and dreams you put that energetic charge into your crystal.

Although quartz crystals are usually the preferred crystals for programming, we’ve used many others: citrine for abundance, rose quartz for a situation which calls for love, aquamarine or turquoise for creativity, aventurine for physical health.

Below is one method of programming.

Exercise

Hold the crystal in both hands and gaze into it, making contact with the crystal.

Start breathing with deep long breaths, inhaling through your nose and exhaling forcefully through your mouth.

Concentrate on what you want to program into the crystal„ a new job, good health, a better relationship, etc. As you inhale, see a visual image of what you want; imagine how it feels to have it, and repeat an affirmation to yourself.

With each exhale send your desire into the crystal.

Your intention has now been programmed into the crystal. This vibration is stored in the crystal until you clear it and replace it with a new intention.

Written Affirmations

One of the most powerful methods of programming that we’ve discovered is to write your intention on a piece of paper and, after using the above method, place your crystal on the written note and leave it there. We did this when we were searching for the perfect spot for Crystal Gardens. We placed a programmed quartz cluster on a map of Greenwich Village along with a note requesting the size and rent we wanted. It worked!

Basic Meditation

We prefer to meditate with crystals and describe this further along in the article. For those who are unfamiliar with principles and practices of meditation, though, we provide a basic introduction.

Meditation gives us a chance to relax, and to heal our bodies. It provides periods of mental stillness, an opportunity to silence the mundane chatter which so often fills our minds, time and space for us to focus our thoughts, to concentrate on the solving of a problem, to visualize the accomplishment of a particular goal.

As we become more skilled at quieting our busy minds, we discover that meditation helps to focus our attention on the here and now. When we give ourselves the gift of time in which we are neither regretting the past nor worrying about the future, we are able to appreciate the present.

Seth, the entity channeled by the late Jane Roberts, often said that he had only one rule for changing one’s life. That was: The point of power is in the present. When we concentrate on the present, we experience our aliveness, the strength of the energy which flows through us. We learn to recognize that energy as power, the raw material with which we create ourselves and our worlds.

(Very) Active Meditation

Some forms of exercise, such as hatha yoga and tai chi ch’uan, which consist of particular patterns of movement, are recognized as forms of meditation. We believe that any form of physical activity can be meditational. The key is to be totally focused on what you’re doing.

When you’re exercising concentrate on the smooth, easy movement of your muscles, your breathing. If you swim, be aware of the feeling of the water. In hiking or walking, focus on the ground beneath your feet.

Sometimes, while swimming or walking, we silently repeat affirmations. To do this, repeat each affirmation three or more times, focusing on the instructions you’re giving your mind, visualizing that you are prosperous, or thin, or loved. We recommend physical exercise not only for its own meditative values, but because it discharges excess energy, the kind that creates worries and anxieties which can prevent us from being relaxed and at peace when we want to practice passive meditation.

(Not Very) Passive Meditation

Passive meditation generally involves sitting or lying down. Create a time during which you’ll be undisturbed. Take the phone off the hook. Go into a room where you’ll be alone. Create this as a special time for yourself.

You may want to start off with a guided meditation tape. This will help direct your mind into appropriate channels. You can also direct passive meditation by silently repeating affirmations. When you feel comfortable with these forms of meditation you can begin to guide your meditations.

We like to listen to meditation music (which can be any kind of music which makes you feel relaxed and calm) on a mp3-type device. This is especially helpful when garbage is being collected, fire engines are blaring, or strangers have entered your life by having a fight outside your window.

Concentrate on your breathing, following each inhale and exhale, feeling energy flowing from your feet to your head and back. Do this for as long as you can. If you find yourself wondering whether you’ve paid the rent, or thinking about what you’ll have to eat when you’re finished meditating, let those thoughts drift away.

It may help for you to imagine that you have a feather duster with which to brush them out of your mind. You’ll find that your ability to meditate improves with practice. In passive meditation, you’re developing psychic and mental muscles. As you learn to silence distracting thoughts, you’ll begin to receive messages from your intuitive mind: new ideas, creative solutions to problems.

You may want to ask specific questions of your intuitive mind. Don’t worry if the answer doesn’t come right away. It may occur to you a few minutes or a few days later.

Crystal Concentration

We have noticed that the quality of our meditations improved immeasurably when we started making crystals part of our meditation. Crystals help to focus our energy, and thus our thoughts. They raise our vibrations and energy level and help to turn our attention from everyday concerns to our greater purposes in being alive.

The simplest way to introduce crystals into your meditation is to hold a clear quartz in one or both of your hands. To receive light and energy, hold the quartz with point facing you. To project your wishes into the universe (as when you’re repeating affirmations), face the points away from you.

Chakra Balancing

crystal, crystals, vibrations, Native American, heal, yoga, meditation, guided meditation, 3rd eye, chakraFor stress reduction and overall energizing, place quartz points (they may be very small) at the base of the spine, just above the pubic bone, on the navel, heart, throat, 3rd eye (between the eyebrows), and at the top of your head.

These seven chakra points can be further activated by slowly rotating a quartz point over them. If you find that, despite your best efforts, you’re still worrying when you want to be meditating, place an amethyst on the third eye. If you’re feeling extremely depressed or spaced out, hold a smoky quartz. Before long you’ll discover that you intuitively know what stones you want to be with on a particular day.

We believe that your intuition will generally be opened if you begin the practice of daily meditation. It is a discipline, and there will be times when you’d rather read the newspaper or call a friend, or do anything in the world except meditate. Persevere. You’ll be glad you did.

Chakras, Color & Gemstones

There is no homogeneous system for classification of the chakras, either by body location or by color. We have found that the system used by Katrina Raphaell, author of Crystal Enlightenment, Crystal Healing and The Crystalline Transmission gives us the best results.

After working with crystals and the ideas presented in this article, you may notice that you are developing a new consciousness, a new belief system which stretches the limits in which you were living before. There is a new inner freedom in which anything becomes possible as long it is in harmony with your deep heart’s core. This is the gift crystals give us.

HEALTH AND DIET

HEALTH AND DIET

Certainly the way you treat your physical body will affect your mind. In magick you want an alert mind. Therefore, your body must be as healthy as you can keep it. Take care of your body. Exercise regularly. Eat a good diet (with vitamin supplements), and do not consume anything which will have a negative effect upon the mind. Drugs, smoking,, and alcohol should be restricted, or eliminated. (The mind can create any condition which a drug can create.) A good rule here is moderation in what and how much you consume. (Most of this stuff is pretty obvious isn’t it.) You may also want to cut down on sugar and processed foods. Many occultists advise dietary changes, expecially the non-eating of meat. We cannot deny the physical, psychological, and spiritual effect which all foods have. This effect may be described as the ‘heaviness’ factor of foods. Various foods are so ranked in the chart, lighter to heavier…

1. lettuce and other greens.

2. fruits and most vegetables.

3. wheat, rice, and other grains.

4. nuts, beans, and other legumes.

5. cheese, dairy products, including eggs.

6. fish, seafood.

7. chicken, poultry.

8. beef, pork, other red meats.

Note that meats, especially red meats are the ‘heaviest’ foods. Generally, foods which are harder to digest, or which are higher in protein are ‘heavier’ than those which are not. Animal products are heavier than plants. Foods high in carbohydrate (candy, bread, starch) are heavy. However, the ‘heaviness’ of foods is not directly related to the amount of calories.

What this means is that for various reasons, the heaviness of food in your diet will affect your magical experiences. You may be able to increase your psychic receptivity (‘energy level’;) by eating lighter foods, or by eating less. Conversely, emphasizing heavy foods in your diet, or eating larger helpings, may help to ‘bring you down to earth’ should you ‘rent the veil’ too much. These are generalizations, of course, and it may take a number of days of dietary change before you notice much effect. I do not advocate radical dietary changes, excessive fasting, or malnutrition. Your good health is far more important in magick than any temporary effect you get from prolonged starvation. A change in diet will sometimes only produce a temporary effect, until the physical body adapts to the change. Healthy natural foods and lifestyle make it easier for us to be healthy, but ultimately, good health is a mentual quality (attitude).

Detox Your Body

Detox Your Body

Although modern medicine tends to cast a cynical eye at detoxification practices such as fasting and colon washing, nobody can deny that the human body is exposed to a lot of toxins, and that relief from such toxins can only bring benefits.Unsurprisingly, the most common organs targeted by detoxification are the ones directly in contact with the toxins that enter the body: the liver, the kidneys, and the intestines or colon. Here are some science-supported ways you can clean up your body and feel better, stronger, and healthier through the consumption of detoxifying foods:Liver: The liver is The Great Detoxifier. It is the part of the body that takes all those noxious chemicals and fats that we ingest, and then turns them into something that can be excreted by the body. [1] But that doesn’t mean the liver can’t use a little detoxifying itself.Alcohol, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and diabetes are just some of the liver’s top enemies. These can all cause injury and inflammation to the liver, preventing this organ from doing its job properly. One natural food item that can detoxify the liver from the effects of alcohol, NSAIDs, and diabetes is bitter gourd. This fruit reduces liver oxidation and inflammation caused by alcohol consumption, [2] stimulates the scavenging of liver free radicals caused by diabetes, and increases glutathione levels, which alleviate liver inflammation caused by NSAIDs. [3], [4]Other natural food items that have been scientifically proven to detoxify or rejuvenate the liver include lemons, [5] avocados, [6] apples, [7] dandelion leaves, [8] and garlic. [9] Kidneys: The kidneys are blood filters. It is their job to collect and eject toxins from our blood. But the kidneys themselves can be vulnerable to toxins such as drugs, microorganism infections, and even excessive calcium or blood sugar. [10] Instead, drink pineapple juice! This vitamin- and fiber-rich liquid is so good at clearing the bowels, it has been consumed to help clear the colons of patients who are about to undergo a colonoscopy procedure. [17]Finally, don’t forget to encourage the healthy growth of beneficial microorganisms in your colon. One proven way of doing that is by eating globe artichokes. [18] Indeed, though modern medicine may pooh-pooh the benefits of faddish “detoxification” methods, we find rich scientific evidence supporting common-sense ways of detoxification: eat healthy food and avoid unhealthy ones. Some foods, though, have been proven healthier and more powerful detoxifiers than others, and since we can only eat so much, it is good to know which foods confer the greatest benefits. After all, with all the toxins around us in our modern world, our body can use all the help it can get…

For detoxifying the kidney, few natural food items are as well known as cranberry juice. Research has proven that cranberries do help clear the kidneys of viral infections [11] and calcium deposits. [12]

Onions, on the other hand, have shown effectiveness in counteracting kidney toxicity from cadmium intoxication. [13] They are also useful for treating renal Toxoplasma gondii infections. [14]

Intestines After our food has been completely mashed up into liquid form by the stomach muscles, the small intestines absorb the food nutrients and send them out to the bloodstream to be delivered to the rest of the body. The unusable parts – the wastes – are then pushed into the large intestines, or the colon.

In other words, the colon is like the body’s trash can. Imagine how disgusting it can get if it isn’t regularly emptied. A lot of bacteria-filled waste material can be left behind to wreak havoc in our body. Lentils are very effective at doing this, and that makes them an excellent colon detoxifier. [15]

Now if you feel like washing out the colon for good measure, there’s no need to go for a colonic irrigation. (In any case, doctors do not recommend colonics anyway, because it heightens our risk of bowel perforation, infection, and electrolyte imbalance.

~*DIFFERENT SYMBOLS AND THERE MEANINGS *~...

MYSTIC SYMBOLS

PENTAGRAM- Ancient time symbol of life. Representation,of earth, air, water, fire joining with spirit to create life. The wearing of the pentagram is mostly for protection and good health. If you hadn't noticed the average teaching of how to draw a star is actually a pentagram.

APPLES- When you cut an apple cross wise you can actually see,it reveals mother earths, own natural pentagram. Both of these are symbols of life.Protection of the pentagram is invoked in one way,by using the pentagram to draw out the sign of the cross. Beginning with the breast, with the right hand to the forehead, right breast, left shoulder, right shoulder, and back at the breast on the left.

This completes a cycle. The end is the beginning as the beginning is the end. This is a gate-less sign of protection. Also this was used way before Christians decided to use a four pointed cross to cross themselves.

Deception on the Spiritual Path

Deception on the Spiritual Path

It’s so easy to create illusionary realities on the path. Subtle essences of ego know how the soul is likely to act in particular circumstances. We’ve ‘seen’ what ‘Enlightenment’ looks like and a part of the soul might want to copy that. It’s kind of like an echo of the real thing. These are the shadow identities that can be so deceptive. We’re in a place of bliss perhaps, but is that where the soul is meant to be? It’s not helped by the persistence of an “Opposing Consciousness” in the field, a purposeful energy with an underlying agenda to limit mankind’s evolution. But if we can be honest with ourselves, there’ll be an unease with any false dawns. We’ll find the true light…

The danger of identity

For some its hard to imagine I know, that in the ‘Matrix’ field all around us, there are deceptive energies that are collectively called an Opposing Consciousness. When you expand into the fourth dimension, if you truly question the nature of what you find, then you’re bound to experience it. It’s a formless energy with many guises that can slip into the psyche of the unaware.

It’s purpose is to create fixed eddy currents of limiting behaviour, attachments that generate filters: such as thoughts, feelings and emotions, that play through our field, which we then create realities around. Often these deceptions – like false love and light – feel so close to the truth, we’re happy to dwell in them. What happens is they create a polarity in your field, through which you bleed energy.

It is this which helps perpetuate the Matrix in which we live.

The soul doesn’t need fixed identities – especially spiritual ones. It is boundless, unlimited, it will happily explore the density of a heavy place just as a light one. It’s purpose is spiritual growth through ever expanding personal integrity of knowing – knowing the truth of reality as experienced through your being.

The Matrix – a complex weave of frequencies

In society we’ve become so used to the ‘Matrix’. It’s a word that’s glibly cast around and mostly referring to an intellect-based, subconscious collection of human generated thought forms that the one percent use to control society. But actually it goes much deeper than that. It is a complex weave of vibrational frequencies sustained from the fourth density. It’s like white noise, that we’ve become so accustomed to, it’s slipped in sureptitiously and now sits silently in our subconscious.

There are two key frequencies that it ‘plays': one some call ‘false love and light’ and the other, I call ‘the raptor consciousness’. The first is a frequency which effectively draws the higher soul out of the bodymind. If you’re in that aspect of the soul, it will feel like bliss – probably something you’ve heard good things about and want to stay in. Yet it prevents the higher soul from integrating down into the bodymind. We become spaced out and ungrounded, not really fully ‘here’. I’ve seen it happen to spiritual seekers who’ve experienced at least a partial kundalini activation; they’re now ‘up in the clouds’ struggling to embody again.

The ‘raptor consciousness’ is all about consumption. It’s a dense frequency that revels in the physical nature of life. Of course there is nothing at all wrong with enjoying the pleasure of materiality: sumptuous food, loving sexual intercourse, the joy of being in a physical body, yet it’s so easy to become attached to these things, to become engrossed in them until the lower soul is distorted and ‘owned’ by them. It’s seems like additives in our food, pornography, and excessive attention to glamour are purposefully propagated to accentuate these behaviours. They desensitise us to the higher soul, separating us from our ultimate destiny. It is particularly these frequencies which we need to watch for, uncover and unwind.

Hidden Agendas

In my perception, these frequencies are part of a complex deception by the Opposing Consciousness to lead humanity astray from alignment with the divine design for our reality and our planet. They’re the truly hidden agendas, ones that go even deeper than most of the surface level conspiracy theories.

They’re propagated surreptitiously through thought implantation and stimulation of emotion.

Here’s just a few of them:

False love and light: we’ve perceived that its unevolved to judge. So now there’s an acceptance of anything goes. We may have accessed the softness of the higher soul and attached to that. We’re now less able to integrate within the body and influence the physicality of life in alignment with the divine.

The Raptor Consciousness: is about reveling in the false sense of abundance of materiality. ‘Intentionally Manifesting’ falls into this particular trap. It may feel like everything’s clicking into place in a material sense, but is it because we’re subtlety aligning with the matrix of excessive consumption and exploitation of natural resources? If spiritual success comes quickly, it’s often a false dawn.

The eco-friendly bandwagon: it’s entirely natural to want to apply greener and more environmentally conscious ways to live. Yet so often, it’s still about how we can shape a more sustainable future for mankind (and the entities we’re hosting). Instead of aligning with the greater good of all sentient life on planet Earth. There’s still the falsehood of wanting to control environments, rather than trusting Gaia to do what she does best.

“Free Energy”: nothing is free! Every cause has an effect. Even if we magic energy from the Zero Point Field, we have to create the machines to do it and then widespread tools and gadgets to benefit from them. These all require resources of which Gaia has a finite capacity. It risks another false dawn, falling into the camp of continued earth exploitation, rather than needing less, and discovering that less is more.

The technology solution: to me, there is a very clear Opposing Consciousness agenda to accelerate the technology race to take humanity out into space, especially as the earth’s surface becomes increasingly exploited. Or else to find cleaner ways of exploiting more. I do believe we can benefit from improved technology, but certainly not at the expense of planetary harmony with all life, nor our own destiny of self realisation. Technology has so often become a tool to distract and divert.

Spiritual possession: as unpleasant as it may sound, I’ve observed an accelerating agenda to tempt souls out of their body through false Ascension techniques and then trapping them in a false bubble within the fourth density. Opposing Consciousness then effectively possesses the largely vacant being. You witness it as an aloofness or vacancy in the eyes. You feel it as a density in their lower field.

Having hosted many spiritual workshops, time and again I’ve witnessed these underlying agendas ‘hiding’ within apparent truth. I recall one such experience…

We were sitting in a highly energetic meditational space, working to infuse and embody higher soul. But clearly there was misunderstanding. We were not looking to bring light in from elsewhere, only from within our own field. Suddenly, Trinity and myself experienced higher dimensional apparitions appear, in the form of recognisable “Ascended Masters” that one of the group had been tuning into. They filled the space with the blissful sense of love and light. At first I was almost taken in by it, so alluring was the energy. But a warning light in my own inner guidance flickered. Tuning into other members of the group, I could feel a number of souls being drawn upwards, unable then to integrate higher beingness in their own bodies. We felt it simultaneously and energetically insisted they leave. It was then much easier for people to ground and infuse higher soul.

What makes us susceptible?

Lack of self honesty: this is born out of attachment to the need for an outcome (like to be successful or accepted). We can hear the quiet voice, but deny or ignore it.

Spiritual glamour: apparently we’ve processed out much of the ego. Yet an imposter of the soul hides behind the mask of ‘expressing joy and uniqueness’, ‘helping lots of people’, ‘healing the planet’ or ‘spreading love and light’. But is it truly selfless?

Lack of trust: not trusting in the flow of the universe and how cosmic consciousness unravels disharmony or injustice. So there’s still a latent desire to try to ‘take things into our own hands’ rather than aligning with this cosmic unraveling.

Hidden desires: there’s an authentic soulful yearning to fulfill divine service. But so often, ‘imposters of the soul’ hide within these desires, because we’re not fully satisfied with the void of emptiness – the abode of the absolute.

Insensitivity: especially in internet social networks, the spiritual journey risks becoming more an intellectual exchange of ideas – ‘research’ – rather than deep realisations. There’s a looking for surface level satisfaction rather than the persistence of going deeper.

Lack of patience: the universe takes its time to unfold in its fullness. But society has conditioned humanity to quick and expedient fixes. Ever greater depths of patience help the soul to fully embody, which then shapes reality authentically.

How might we overcome Spiritual Deception?

Become the Void: first and foremost is to explore one’s own being ever deeper until you touch the Void of infinite potential. When you find peace and contentment just the way things are, without need of change, then you become less susceptible to the glamour of a quick fix.

Test the soul: keep aligning with, attuning to, and testing the soul in every single moment. How does your soul speak to you? How do you recognise its vibration? But always keep testing this alignment against the question “is there a deep sense of ‘rightness’ with this behaviour or action?”

Tune into synchronicity: synchronicity is the objective mother tongue of the universe. If we accept totally that we are the creators of our own reality, then the mirror we manifest will surely tell us if we’re going astray – if what we create causes inner tightness and subtle contraction.

Watch for repetitive patterns: if we’re running a distortion (a conditioned behaviour), but we’re being profoundly honest with ourselves, then patterns of conditioned behaviours will manifest themselves. By the Law of Attraction we’ll draw appropriate situations and circumstances to confront our limitations. Openly embrace these gifts.

Seek to move beyond self judgment: we all make mistakes! None of us are perfect (at least not in an evolving being sense). So if we see that we’ve been caught in some kind of deception, self forgiveness and acceptance is key to mastering it.

The walls of the Matrix are Fragmenting

Fortunately, a growing number of evolving people are beginning to test the illusions, including the spiritual ones, that the Opposing Consciousness has helped us create. Energetically we’ve been working behind the scenes sending out vibrations that question the legitimacy of the system. To me, it’s this that caused the credit crunch for example in 2008; it’s this that’s challenging and fracturing the inequity and injustice we see all around us. When people challenge the deception within their own being, it’s then that they send the Opposing Consciousness packing.

The matrix we live in is so much more than a collation of humanity’s mental control and manipulation dramas. It’s been purposefully created as entwined vibrational frequencies to limit and suppress. Well now I can literally feel that fourth density web unraveling and beginning to break apart.

As above so below: thus we can rightly expect to see the unraveling effect here in the 3D. And I do believe we are seeing the early signs: growing financial instability; ever more people challenging the unseen powers; accelerating spiritual liberation. But this is only the beginning, we must keep on pushing through, being absolutely honest within the Core of our own Being.

Then surely, one day, the deceptive walls of this unjust Jericho will topple!

5 Ways of Letting GO

5 Ways of Letting GO

The art of true receiving, is the art of letting go.

I have been a procrastinator for years. It is a give and take process, the main indicator of whether you are someone who is not letting go naturally is if you are a procrastinator. Well at least I used to be, until I learned the energy that causes procrastination.

I was infamously the just in time, deadline girl. Constantly putting things off just to save the day for myself like some not all the way thought through super hero. I would just barely pass tests with only a few hours of studying (cramming late night the night before of course). I would show up five minutes late to work just to push my limits. You get the point, I would come through time and again.

Until one day of course this tug and pull, stop and go energy; did just that.

It all stopped. And I didn’t come through.

Actually it turns out this caused me a lot of missed deadlines and under performed task that just really didn’t represent my life essence. When you are a creative person the thought of a task can sometimes feel like a weight holding you down, so you set it to the “side” and say to yourself, “ I’ll get to you later task but for now I am going to do what feels good.” The problem is that with procrastination the formula is feel good now (kind of because you are always thinking about the task) and then feel worse later because you didn’t accomplish anything. Not so good, everyone gets it.

I tried a lot of things but nothing seemed to work. I tried planners, to do lists, goal setting and accountability. All are great methods, but they only last so long with a creative mind. Nothing really worked long term.

That’s because I wasn’t getting to the root problem.

I hadn’t figured out the skill that would set me free.

Until I learned about letting go.

I first learned to let go when I quit smoking. From what I know about smoking the Native Americans teach us that tobacco is an herb that is there for us to help ease emotional pain and a channel to see the grande woven web of reality to help identify and heal the pain. I had to dive deep within and really ask myself why I enjoyed smoking. I had to let go of the “need” to smoke to be a vessel of pleasure instead of healing the pain and truly being able to experience joy through clear emotional awareness and my lifelong wellness as a result.

From this I learned to let go of other false “needs” or attachments: material possessions, alcohol, junk food, meat, make-up ( yes I am a girl). I am not saying that these things are “things” everyone needs to let go of. But for me, the deeper I seemed to dive within myself, the more I could see why I was leaning on those things in my life and how lighter my life was without them. How truly freeing it is to just let go. I learned that when we attach ourselves to people, things or outcomes we actually negate the best (even more awesome then we possibly could have ever imagined) design the universe has in mind for us.

Here’s the process I used to let go of the distractions and attachments:

1.I realized my creative imagination could be my help or my harm. Just as much as our imagination can make every moment exciting and interesting, our imagination can exaggerate a task to be way more grisly than if we just sit down and do it.

2.I funneled the energy of joy I thought I would have by avoiding the “task” into the “task” itself. Take the joy you would be having procrastinating and implant it into your task. Literally project yourself into your project, see what I did there?

3.I set my intentions to do the best work I knew I could do. I let my imagination go wild and really pictured the end result and how that would make me feel. (I.E. accomplished and awesome)

4.I became more aware of my urges to run from the current moment. By running from the current moment and current task you are literally swimming against the stream of natural motion within all of the universe. No wonder we feel bad after.

5.Finally and most importantly I realized, I could be in discomfort and nothing bad would happen. In fact, the best things happen when I’m in discomfort. I learn to transform a situation that I thought would be uncomfortable into being an awesome lesson. Making me a multidimensional, more interesting person with a bonus of completely accomplished awesome projects! This then opening time and energy to move to more challenging and amplified version of your talents and gifts.

I’ll use a quote now to end this that I think rings true to this day:

‘You can only lose what you cling to.’ ~Buddha

When you learn to breathe, be in the moment and let go.

You receive your ultimate joy in return.

An Open Letter To Anyone Thinking About Trying Yoga

An Open Letter To Anyone Thinking About Trying Yoga

Why Making Yourself Vulnerable Protects You In Relationships

So, you may have been wondering what happened to me since I declared I would begin "dating spiritually." Well, I began a new practice of openly declaring what I want to prospective partners. It goes Read

A student in my class had never done yoga before. He arrived late, and the only space available was in the middle of the tightly packed room, and there was no time to discuss or prepare. I felt that he was struggling as we moved through the practice, and I made some suggestions on modifications to the poses and he kept pushing through. I felt the pushing, but at least he didn’t get up and walk out.

He was courageous enough to stay through the class, but made a quick exit afterwards. Knowing the transformative possibilities of yoga, I wanted to grab him, even shake him, while telling him to wake up and drink the Kool-Aid, but alas he slipped out, and in a moment was gone. I wondered what his story was. I wondered if he'd try yoga again. This experience prompted me to want to write a letter to new students.

Here are five things to remember when starting a practice of yoga:

1. It's probably harder than you thought.

This is by far one of the most common statements from new students. I remember telling friends when I first started yoga that it was the hardest thing I'd ever done, and I had done sports all my life. Yoga tends to use the whole body, which includes parts that may not have been called upon in quite some time.

Yoga is a mind-body practice and the goal is to make that connection, but in doing so, the body is strengthened and opened through a series of postures called asana. The important thing here is to honor the body and start where you are. There is a yoga class for everyone. If the style or flow of the class you attended really isn’t for you, check into different classes. Some are geared toward fitness level, health status and age.

2. No pretzels necessary!

I spent years staying off the mat because I wasn’t flexible enough. I thought that I'd need to contort my body into a pretzel if I was going to practice yoga the right way. When I decided to face my fears about not being good enough and came to the mat, I found I didn’t have to do that. But what I did find is that I have become more flexible, both on the mat and off, in ways I could not have imagined back then. We must remind ourselves that it isn’t about being good at yoga. It isn’t about achieving some contorted body posture. It's about the journey, every single second of it.

3. Your teacher is your friend.

Yoga is about energetics. Just as in any other classroom setting, the teacher is a key component. I can say for sure that I would not be where I am today without having incredible teachers with whom I connected deeply. There are many different styles of yoga in the west, and many different styles of teachers to go along with them. Find someone you trust to guide you. It's your journey, but your teacher can be the conduit to help you along the way.

4. Yoga is about connecting with oneself.

It's about remaining open and letting whatever comes come. Connecting with oneself can be uncomfortable. As we begin to connect, we can feel a whole host of emotions and sensations. Then the judgments come. I can’t believe I tried this. What was I thinking? Would it be rude if I just left? In these times, noticing your breath can help to let go of the tirades of the ego and allow the body to settle into the present moment instead of shutting down, closing up shop, and going home literally and figuratively.

5. If you practice regularly and sincerely yoga will change your life.

Many new students ask, “How often do I need to do this to get the benefits?”

The answer?

Practice as much as you can, whether it's once time a week or several times a week.

Yoga starts to transform as soon as you begin to practice, in major ways and in subtle ways, and the effects are cumulative over a lifetime. Yoga is healing. Yoga slows the aging process. Yoga strengthens the body, the mind and the spirit, and allows those who practice to face life with a sense of peace and resiliency they may not have previously known.

I am filled with gratitude for my teachers and my practice and what they have shown me about myself, about life, about being able to live fully. I am also grateful for the chance to get to better know myself each and every day and to share this practice with others along the path.

More on the Aura..

More on the Aura..

The auric emanations of the planet allows us to become telepathic. The auric emanations of the planet allow sound to manifest and to flow and so it is that a combination of lifeforms down here that make the planet what it is, be it the atoms, the cells, the minerals, the plants or animals, can receive the auric emanations from the cosmos absorb to a degree that which is necessary through the collective and individual experience, through the aura. This can then be shared with the various lifeforms that co-exist around about us. In a physical sense, any lifeform coming within two metres of you can be touched by your evolutionary frequency, as your aura inter-mingles. Those who are more developed, their auric emanations can sometimes be felt 50 or 60 miles away, and this is the case of course with those who are loosely termed avatars or perfect masters. But in a general sense, the average person aurically at the moment has especially in a European sense, an aura that is dissipated. That is weak, that isn’t absorbing energy very usefully, whose earthing is suspect and so most Europeans carry a very negative energy charge, mainly because of the electromagnetic energy in a physical sense around about them, their way of life, and because of course they have lost touch not only physically but emotionally and mentally aswell. But Auras in this day and age are of course far larger than they were a hundred years ago, so most peoples internal auric spaces through the chakra systems are being stimulated in a way that hither to was impossible previously.

As this stimulation increases, so it is the general shape of the aura will alter, and so it is the capacity to handle and hold energy will greatly increase, whether the individual consciously acknowledges that or not, since the races as a whole be they mineral, plant, animal or human, have no choice now, since the planet in its own auric sense, is moving its frequency from the solar plexus up into the heart centre. Snd so it is that all lifeform that co-exist within the planet at this time, has to move their auric emanations also up to the heart centre. For those who seek to resist this, discorporation will take place and they will be forced to drop their bodies and find a different plane of existence to work out the necessary frequencies so that they then can possibly, in some time in the greater or lesser future, come back into reincarnation within this planet proper. So the time has come for everybody to acknowledge that the auras need to be cleansed, need to be earthed and they need to bring in the irradiation of these light-beings who are waiting to link hearts and minds with us, to celebrate the coming of the new day.

The 13 Crystal Skulls Mystery

The 13 Crystal Skulls Mystery

One of archaeology’s most compelling mysteries is that of the 13 Crystal Skulls. Skulls have been one of the most powerful objects of symbolism in human history, all over the world. Several “perfect” crystal Skulls have been found in parts of Mexico, Central and South America. Together, they form a mystery as enigmatic as the Nazca Lines, the Great Pyramids and Stonehenge.

These skulls are believed to be between 5000 and 35000 years old. During early expeditions, archaeologists were told by locals that the skulls possessed magical powers and healing properties. However, people were unsure as to where they came from, or even why they existed. Some like to believe that these were remains from the lost civilization of Atlantis. Others like to believe these are fakes. And yet another group of psychics believe that these skulls have the capability to enable us to look into the past, present and future. Why would so much work and time be spent on perfecting a human skull made out of one of the hardest substances known to man after diamonds, rock crystal? The cutting of which requires great expertise and precision and the carving and polishing of which is equally time-consuming? In other words, why a skull? Some scientists and sceptics say about these skulls is that they were probably made in the 1800s, as the tools used or required to do such work were not available to the civilisations of the past.

Historians and social anthropologists decided to find out more about the strange skulls. Very soon, they came across an ancient Indian legend saying that there had been thirteen crystal skulls of the Goddess of Death; they had been kept separately from each other under the strict control of pagan priests and special warriors.

Searches for more skulls started; some of them were found in museums and some in private collections not only in the USA, but in Mexico, Brazil, France, Mongolia, and in Tibet. There were more than 13 skulls found. However, not all of them were as perfect as Mitchell-Hedges- was. Very likely, those were just later attempts to create something similar to the original skulls that were believed to have been gifts by God to the people.

The very construction and make of the skulls defies common logic. There are several crystal skulls in existence today around the world. They are :

The Mitchell – Hedges Skull

Perhaps the most famous crystal skull in the world today is the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull, named after a real-life “Indiana Jones” of the 20th Century, British explorer and adventurer F. A. Mitchell-Hedges. The most distinguishable characteristic of this crystal skull is its extraordinary clarity and its detachable jaw, carved from the same piece of quartz as the rest of the skull. This crystal skull was originally called the “Skull of Dunn” after an associate on one of the expeditions to Lubaantun (Belize).

British Crystal Skull and Paris Crystal Skull

They are said to have been bought in the 1890’s by mercenaries in Mexico. One is at the London’s Museum of Mankind and the other is at the Trocadero Museum of Paris.

Tips To Help You Meditate

Posted on October 28, 2018 at 4:50 AM Comments comments (255)

Whether you are looking for more peace or less stress in your life, meditation could be exactly what you need. For beginners, or people who are just learning about the amazing benefits meditation can provide for your mental clarity and well-being, however it can be frustrating at first.

When you first start meditating, you may experience a mix between waiting for something to happen and having your mind over flooded with thoughts; the practice of meditation can be a daunting task, and you may even feel overwhelmed by it at first –I know I have. That is why I have compiled this list of 20 tips to help get you in that perfect environment –inside and out –to begin to implement this sacred practice more regularly into your daily life.

1. Practice Makes Perfect, Make Time For Meditation Every Day

When you are first starting out, it is important to keep with it, you may not notice the benefits right away, but the more you practice the easier it will become to quiet the mind, and get into the state of relaxation and allow the clarity to come through. Even for just 5 minutes a day, this will guarantee you stay on track.

2. Start With The Breath

Begin every practice by breathing deeply, slowly inhaling and then exhaling and focusing solely on your breath.

3. Let Go Of Any & All Frustrations

It is completely natural and normal to feel frustrated while learning to meditate. Try not to hold onto these thoughts, and don’t try to stop them. Just let them float on by and go back to focusing on the breath.

4. Pick A Specific Room In Your House To Meditate

Try to pick a room in your house that is free from a lot of outside noise or distractions; preferably, pick a room with minimal electronics.

5. Set Up A Peaceful Space

Consider having dim or no lights and burning some candles. Burning a little bit of incense or diffusing some calming essential oils (such as lavender) can help your mind and body to feel relaxed and at ease.

6. Make Sure To Not Be Distracted

Let your family, friends or roommates know that you will be busy for the allotted amount of time and to not disrupt you, put your phone on silent.

7. Feel Your Body Parts

When you first begin, while focusing on the breath, consciously try to feel each body part, starting with your feet. Don’t actually physically touch the body parts just feel them. After you feel the feet, work your way up to the ankles, calves and so on. This is a great technique to put you in the zone.

8. Make The Commitment

Be committed to the practice. For the long haul, if you can’t find time to incorporate 5-10 minutes per day in your life for meditation, then you definitely have some big issues that need to be resolved.

9. Start Slowly

Begin by practicing meditation for just 5 minutes per day, you can even set a timer if you like, as you start to get the hang of it and feel more comfortable you can increase the time to as long as you feel you need to get into that deep relaxed state.

10. Read A Book On Meditation

To get even more tips for meditation, and to learn about some of the benefits and other simple tips check a book or two out of the library, see what you find.

11. Check Out Some Guided Meditation CD’s Or Listen To Meditation Music

If you still have trouble clearing your mind sometimes, listening to a guided meditation CD can be excellent by giving you something to focus on and listen to so that the mind can just take in the instructions.

12. Practice Being “Present” Throughout The Day

During the day, while driving, working, eating lunch, cleaning or whatever, find a few moments of stillness in your day by quieting the mind and taking a few deep breaths.

13. Experiment With Different Positions

You can try the typical yogi, “lotus” position, sitting cross-legged with each foot on the opposite thigh, you can sit on a chair, with your palms facing up, you can lay down, whatever you like. As you get more comfortable, you will find a position that works best for you. When I first started, I loved to lay down, but I was finding the calmness I would feel would put me to sleep almost every time, soon I realized this position was too comfortable for me and it was better for me to sit up.

Dirt is NOT Dirty ??? How Playing in the Dirt Benefits the Immune System

Dirt is NOT Dirty ??? How Playing in the Dirt Benefits the Immune System

At present, our culture is overly obsessive about germs, cleanliness, and hygiene. Parents are constantly washing their children’s hands, using antibacterial soap, alcohol tinged wipes or changing them the second they have dirt on their clothes.

I don’t know about you, but when I was a child I liked to make mud pies, walk around barefoot and climb any tree I could find. Instinctively I craved to immerse myself in the natural environment.

When I had my own children I reminded myself of this as they shoveled sand into their mouths at the beach or tasted a pebble or a leaf. It is natural for children to be as close to nature as possible. Well, now research into the connection between getting dirty and a immune system health has found that this modern obsession with germs and cleanliness might be leading to the rise in allergies, asthma and inflammatory bowel disease. (1)

What is it About a Child’s Attraction to Dirt?

According to Mary Ruebush PhD, author of Why Dirt is Good: 5 Ways to Make Germs Your Friends, the attraction is based on millions of years of evolution.

Just like any other muscle in our body, the immune system needs to be exercised in order to fully develop and become strong enough to resist illness and disease. Eating dirt as a child turns out to be the ideal training to build your immune system’s overall fitness.

Wrote Mary Ruebush:

“What a child is doing when he puts things in his mouth is allowing his immune response to explore his environment. Not only does this allow for ‘practice’ of immune responses, which will be necessary for protection, but it also plays a critical role in teaching the immature immune response what is best ignored.”

Children who grow up on farms and are exposed to all sorts of bugs, worms and natural elements have demonstrably less allergies and autoimmune problems than urban children who spend most of their time indoors. Playing outside barefoot every now and again and digging in the dirt more often would do wonders for the health of today’s youngsters.

Our Natural Instinct is to Love Dirt

New research says that it is possible that children today are ‘too’ clean, and would be better off sticking to their natural instincts.

Dirt is NOT Dirty In a 2012 study, researchers tested what would happen to mice if they were bred to lack stomach bacteria and how it would effect their immune system. It found that exposure early in life to microbes helped to train certain immune cells to resist disease later in life. Exposure to those same microbes as an adult did not have the same effect. The immune cells affected were generally those in the lungs and colon due to hyperactivity in T cells. This is similar to that found in humans with asthma. (2)

The most important point from the research is the idea that during the early years of life there are some crucial biological developments that happen which cannot be recreated later on in life — and building a strong immune system is one of them. (3)

Playing in Dirt Builds a Strong Immune System

By no means am I suggesting that you feed your child spoonfuls of dirt, rather I am letting you know that you can stop worrying about dirt and germs and place your energy elsewhere. People are so worried about their children catching a cold or flu that they are obsessively focused on whether their child is clean and germ-free. However, this seems to work against the natural rhythm of life. Science has proven that exposure to dirt is beneficial to a child’s life. They love dirt because they instinctively know it is good for them in order to grow up with strong immune systems.

We can now relax and trust that our children will actually be healthier the dirtier they get. Take a deep breath and enjoy watching the joy your child experiences playing in dirt while knowing that they are building their intuitive instincts and a strong immune system.

OM: What Is It & Why Do We Chant It?

OM: What Is It & Why Do We Chant It?

OM has Vibration, that is traditionally chanted at the beginning and end of yoga sessions. Coming from Hinduism and Yoga, the mantra is considered to have high spiritual and creative power but despite this, it is a mantra that can be recited by anyone. It’s both a sound and a symbol rich in meaning and depth and when pronounced correctly it is actually AUM.

Aum actually consists of four syllables: A, U, M, and the silent syllable.

The first syllable is A, pronounced as a prolonged "awe." The sound starts at the back of your throat and you stretch it out. You will start feeling your solar plexus and chest vibrating.

The second syllable is U, pronounced as a prolonged “oo,” with the sound gradually rolling forward along your upper palate. You'll feel your throat vibrate.

The third syllable is M, pronounced as a prolonged “mmmm” with your front teeth gently touching. You will now start to feel the top of your vibrate.

The last syllable is the deep silence of the Infinite. As intelligence rises from the deep silence, you have to merge your chant from the ‘M’ to the deep silence.

Symbolically the three letters embody the divine energy (Shakti) and it’s 3 main characteristics: (1) creation, (2) preservation and (3) liberation.

Why do we chant it?

Everything in the universe is pulsating and vibrating – nothing is really standing still! The sound Om, when chanted, vibrates at the frequency of 432 Hz, which is the same vibrational frequency found throughout everything in nature.

As such AUM is the basic sound of the universe; so by chanting it we are symbolically and physically tuning in to that sound and acknowledging our connection to all other living beings, nature and the universe.

In addition the vibrations and rhythmic pronunciation also have a physical affect on the body by slowing down the nervous system and calming the mind similar to meditation. When the mind is relaxed, your blood pressure decreases and ultimately the health of your heart improves.

Finally it is also a way to delineate the time of our practice from the rest of our day and signify that this is a special time in which to care for ourselves and practice being mindful.

11 Signs You???re An Old Soul

“How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?” ~ Satchel Paige

There is a special type of person in our world who finds themselves alone and isolated, often times even since birth.

The sometimes lonely experience from this person isn’t because of any sort of antisocial behavior. It has more to do with being different. This person feels old and often acts more mature than the typical person. They often stand out in their behavior and live more outside the box when it comes to the rules of society.

Because of this the old soul often finds themselves a bit alone or with only a few close friends. Younger souls will flock to this soul because they can almost sense the depth of experience within them.

Have you ever met someone who you would speak to for wisdom? Have people come to you before seeking guidance?
